NYMAZ (North Yorkshire Music Action Zone) is a network of strategic partners delivering high quality music-making activities for children and young people across rural North Yorkshire.

Working across a wide range of music genres and styles, NYMAZ projects enable young people to access learning and performance opportunities with highly skilled artists and develop new musical, personal and social skills. NYMAZ works closely with local communities and partners to champion the transformative potential of music for children and young people.

NYMAZ has recently been awarded funding to deliver a new Youth Music Programme from 2012 – 2014 under two modules: Musical Inclusion and Networking, as well as being a partner in the new North Yorkshire Music Education Hub. We will be working with partners to identify local needs, develop activities, create progression routes and support the sector. We are also developing three music networks in North Yorkshire focussing on Early Years Music, Special Educational Needs and Musical Progression, which will enable the sharing of effective practice amongst those working in the sector.
