The last thing the son of the legendary Fela Kuti needed was his personal brand of Afrobeat to be given a distancing sheen, or diluted by some space-age Enoesque sound effects. It’s the convention to review concerts on the first night of a tour rather than the last, but in this case it transpired it was rather wise to make an exception.
