Film of Pina Bausch’s dances is rare, but linked to the London performances by Tanztheater Wuppertal this week the Barbican centre is showing a season of films about her theatre as well as her working methods, capped by the famous 1985 film of Café Müller, her evocation of the restaurant in which she grew up, and in which she danced.

The company dances Kontakthof from tomorrow till Sunday (1-4 April). The film season comprises: Friday at 5pm: The Alternative Theatre of Pina Bausch (a half-hour 1991 documentary) and a short, Coffee with Pina, featuring extracts of her creations Agua and Rough Cut. Saturday at 4.45pm Wanted: Ladies and Gentlemen over 65 (documentary about the choosing of amateurs via a local paper advert to perform Kontakthof). Sunday noon, Café Müller.
