Surprise Guillemots release is first of four this year

Avant-garde Birmingham four-piece Guillemots (or gUiLLeMoTs, as they would prefer to be stylised) release new album Hello Land! today after gloriously-named frontman Fyfe Dangerfield played two tracks on BBC 6 Music yesterday. The album is the first of four the band will release this year, in association with The state51 Conspiracy.

The album was recorded in Norway and features the Norwegian Flute Ensemble as the first of four "orchestral elements" the band promises to incorporate on each release. The album is available to buy directly from the band as well as the usual online sources, and will be rereleased with its companion pieces as part of a "special box set which will have vinyl and all that in it" at the end of the year.

We liked Walk the River, last year's release from the band, so will be keeping an eye on this one. Take a listen to the new one on Soundcloud.
