The London Art Fair may not have the international heft or VIP glamour of Frieze, but for 25 years it’s been the place to see and buy the best of British modern art.
Both sections are wonderfully diverse, ranging across painting, sculpture, installation and performance. And there’s been some imaginative curating. For Art Projects, Limoncello have organised a display inspired by ITV’s dating show Take Me Out (with a ratio of 30 female artists to one male, as one work is sold by a female artist it's replaced by another). Meanwhile, The Sunday Painter transforms its booth into an “interior showroom”, complete with hand-painted carpet, vases and artworks by Samara Scott. And for its fourth year, the Catlin Guide shows some outstanding work by 40 graduates from art schools across Britain. Both sections will definitely add value to your visit.
